MTA Membership at International Level
MTA maintains an active international presence through professional networks that connect Malaysian translators with regional and global organisations.
The International Federation of Translators (FIT) brings together more than 120 associations from around 60 countries and represents over 80,000 translators, interpreters, and terminologists worldwide. FIT also holds consultative status with UNESCO and is headquartered in Paris, France.
MTA became a full FIT member in 2017 after serving as an observer member since 2008. Through this participation, MTA also contributes to regional networks such as APTIF to strengthen knowledge exchange, professional development, and Malaysia's representation in the international translation community.
